Hike Under the Full Moon

Kick off your Memorial Day weekend with a full moon hike on Friday, May 24. Just imagine yourself hiking with the whole family or your special someone under the moonlight and stars that shine bright in our cloudless Scottsdale sky.

Grayhawk Scottsdale

The nighttime hikes will be offered at three different Maricopa County parks at varying times. The McDowell Mountain Regional Park is only a short drive for those Grayhawk residents who would like to participate. The hikes, which are led by park rangers, are free, however there is a $6 park entry fee for each vehicle.

Rangers recommend that all hikers wear closed-toe shoes and bring water and a flashlight. You’ll have to leave Fido at home – no pets allowed on this hike.

The Scottsdale area hosts a wide variety of events like tomorrow’s hike. It’s just one more reason to love living in Grayhawk. The central location of Grayhawk offers residents plenty of community events, dining and entertainment options and much more.

McDowell Mountain Regional Park:

Usery Mountain Regional Park:

San Tan Regional Park:
6533 W. Phillips Road, Queen Creek
Time: 8:00p.m.

Grayhawk Golf Club to Host Thunderbird International Junior Tournament

The AJGA’s Thunderbird International Junior tournament will take place this weekend, May 25-27, at the Raptor golf course. The Raptor is one of two exquisite courses that make up North Scottsdale’s Grayhawk Golf Club. The tournament, in its 13th consecutive year, will welcome the world’s top junior golfers, ages 12 through 18. The lineup of golfers includes an impressive list of homegrown players with an international mix.

Thirteen countries will be represented this weekend including: Australia, China, England, Chile, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Mexico, Norway, Paraguay, Peru, Sweden and the United States.

There are sure to be new champions this year as last year’s winners Max Orrin of England and Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand will not return to compete. However, 2011’s champions Brad Dalke of Texas and Karen Chung of New Jersey return in hopes of taking back their titles.
